Are foodgasms the main appeal of Food Wars?

From a scale from 1 to 5, how big of an appeal are the foodgasms?

5, basically the most important appeal in the show

When I started Food Wars, I found the foodgasms boring. I don't know how weird of a take that is, but the main thing I heard about Food Wars before starting was about the foodgasms. So, how big of an appeal were the foodgasms really? What other things did you like about the show?

The progression of how the characters mainly souma get stronger and have to conquer his way to the top of the school it was nice to see him challenge anyone and everyone and come out on top

I’m indifferent towards fan service, so that aspect of the foodgasms were not the main appeal. But I do feel like foodgasms were an integral part of the shows quirkiness and wouldn’t want to see a food war without a foodgasm.

The plot is pretty basic but the tournaments or food wars are fun.
Reason is because it's has suspense, when a winner wants to be selected for the war

I like the plot, the characters, the character development, their interactions and the humor of the show. Sometimes it feels like it's a parody of itself, they don't take themselves too seriously and have fun with it.

the foodgasms were the main selling point before I watched the show, but after seeing it all I found myself loving the character growth. I don't know, I just really started focusing on the characters themselves and their journey, so I would say it is a 4/5 for me now. the foodgasms are still fun, but are more like a gag that reappears ever so often. also the food and the visual representation (all about the boobs hehe) is a huge part for me, I always get so much inspiration for cooking (even though there are some pretty unusual recipes sometimes, like bear meat for example, no way am I gonna be able to cook that lol)

You mean those stupid moaning and stripping reactions every time the characters taste delicious dishes? No way.

If anything, those foodgasms ruin the show badly, no one acts like some pornstars like that after they eat some good dishes in the middle of some serious cooking contests.

I never cared about foodgasm
I watched for food,characters, their growth and interaction and rivalry and story(till s3)
I think it would be better without foodgasm part and s4 and s5
(also it filled the void left by haikyuu for me)

Yeah my brain seemed to focus on, and enjoy the shounen elements as well. The tiddy was just there sometimes and it got to a point where the severity of the foodgasms were used to powerscale lmao

I personally didn’t understand. Foodwars was like one the first anime’s I was introduced to so I was shocked a bit by the fan service and foodgasms but it didn’t bother me cause I really liked the show (for the actual food and main characters)

But yeah man anime isn’t anime without some inappropriate shit. Weird reality

I like the animation and the quality. Like they teach you about food. Weird things you didn’t know like with the meat and honey for example. Souma is my fave. Ryo too (sorry f misspelled or wrong) but yeah the actual cooking battles were stimulating they made cooking look fucking cool. I was on the edge of my seat and I love how kickass souma is. Like he’s been in some tough spots but he still makes it ya know. Yeah he’s my fave part of the show

I wouldn't say it's the MAIN appeal of the show. Even though it's possible to feel a sense of ecstasy when eating some good food. in my opinion I think the Foodgasms is for comedic effect, over the top reactions because if anything the Main appeal is how the food looks so damn good, makes you want to lick the screen not saying I'd actually do it Lol

makes watching with company damn near impossible unless they are in the know. but I don't mind it at all, I would watch it and like it about as much as I do already. So it doesn't change what I'd personally rate it but I rather have it the not I suppose. The main aspects that drew me in were the huge cast of characters they managed to make all interesting and appealing. Although I did start to miss the early on food wars from s1 and s2 towards the end
