Why do anime fans dislike sports or physical activities?

I find that most anime fans are reclusive and tend to rather stay home then do anything physical. You might find that one anime fan that likes sissy stuff like jogging though. Not enough time in the day to watch anime AND also be physically active?

What's wrong with just jogging?

It's not like I can go hiking, rappeling, kayaking or wall climbing everyday.

You could play basketball, soccer, football, shuttle runs, biking, boxing, cross fit, weight lifting, anaerobic excersizes etc etc

Inflated ego posts again!

I'm not a naturally athletic person, I am glad I get the exercise I get and that is that. There is nothing wrong with me not being ridiculously active, as I am happy so long as I stay fairly slim, and my job requires me to stand all day anyway.

Anime is a hobby that involves sitting in front of a screen for hours. You sit around all day, you're gonna become lazy.

Too shor for some of those, plus, I metabolize easily. Don't want to drop 5 kilos when I eat for 2 and a half just to stay at 52 kilos.

Being slim doesn't mean you're healthy. And standing all day will give you hemorrhoids.

The more energy you spend the more food and nutrients your body will need to replinish and recover. Meaning the more active you are the more your body will let you know that it's time to eat.

man, idgaf, not planning on living ridiculously long anyway, as long as i'm at least somewhat physically okay looking, i dont care about my heath to the degree of a fitness guru. i can treat my body as much like as a dumpster i want, i don't care about the longevity of my life at all.

Maybe it's cause the anime fans who are really into sports and being active don't have as much time to get on things like MAL a lot or converse with people on the internet about anime, which would make them less well known. Compared to anime fans who are more interested in staying inside and spending more time on the internet would be more well known.

idk.

I'm a Nutrition major and don't do sports, but I exercise every other day. I still have plenty of time to get on MAL and watch anime. I just enjoy being healthy and taking care of my body because it's one of my passions. It might be the opposite for others though.

Just pure laziness. I used to be like that when I was younger, but now I've lost 80 pounds and I lift weights 3x a week. I hate running.

I metabolize quickly and you expect me to do more?(in example, I just ate and hour ago with 3 cups of rice and I'm already hungry). Oh yeah, and I did the whole weight lifting thing, dropping fat too quickly, took me 5 weeks to regain the kilos. Nope, pass.

I will have to wait until my metabolism slows down before doing any of that.

It's probably just a matter of hardcore anime fans not having enough time to exercise. I do martial arts and I would rather sacrifice anime time than exercise time, so I keep in shape even though I do sit around a lot on the internet.

I'm actually in very good shape and pretty good at any physical sport that relies on explosiveness, speed and agility. I work out every day.

Your waifu or husbando will always love you no matter how obese you become .On a serious note watching anime is a very sedentary thing that doesn't require physical activity. There are people though who are anime fans and are still into sports.

You clearly have a bad diet. You need to lift heavy and incorporate mass building excersizes into your regiment like squats and deadlifts. You need to eat 5 times a day, consume a lot of protein and carbs. Drink whole milk. Healthy fats like nuts, especially almonds and avocado. You just don't know what you're doing which is why you stay skinny

In most cases I guess it's probably just being lazy or prefer to spend all of one's free time watching anime instead of dividing it to be able to do physical activities as well.

Oh lord...honestly, paleo has some good parts to it, but it's not a diet for long term. I think cutting out sugar, or decreasing it in people's diets would benefit people a ridiculous amount. I don't think anyone should be consuming zero amounts of any food group. I do think there is a high correlation between all the diseases and food we put into our bodies and that the changing of our diets will prevent and cure these diseases. Rather than prescribing a bunch of meds to treat symptoms. I could rant for days on this, but i'll leave it at that

Well he's saying that he can't do much exercise cause he loses weight too fast. So he just needs to change his diet in order to keep weight on.

And why would any one want to remain a beta? Being skinny means you're weak. Why would any one want to be physically weak?

Can't argue with your reasoning for diet tips, but being skinny doesn't necessarily mean being weak. There are some seriously bony black belts I know that can take down a guy way bigger and heavier than them.

Also, physical weakness isn't a goal for everyone. Many people would rather dedicate their time to study or art than achieving physical strength.

Also, running regularly is very good for training your stamina.

I used to be on the cross country team back in high school, and our training was far harder than most things I've done. But it's well worth it because nowadays I can regularly run long distances without running out of breath, and managed to stay relatively slim.

Oh yeah, and it's not all about just running, you have to work out your muscles quite regularly as well, otherwise your muscles won't have the strength to continually move around that much.

Also, fat does not mean strong. A lot of people don't know how to distribute physical strength throughout their bodies.

Well if you're dedicating your time to a martial art then I could see cause I do know some boxers who take it seriously and try to keep their weight down. But at least doing something physcial like a martial art every day is going to improve stamina, core strength, balance, flexibility etc etc so you are stengthining other parts of your body

I've found that anaerobic exercises give me good stamina, and don't hinder my strength or weight

I'm fine with being skinny since you brought up alphas versus betas at one point, I would much more favor myself an omega based solely on the urban dictionary definition.

lol get up at 5am and do 75 reps squats, 40 rep front squats, 3 minutes of box jumps, 40 deadlifts, 40 walking lunges with a barbell and weights on your back, 50 calf raises, 10 minutes of weighted sled pushes/sprints, 15 minutes of battle ropes and and 10 minutes of intense rowing

I used to avoid sport when I was younger but started enjoying a lot more once I started trying a bunch of things during college.

Now I am a winter sport fanatic (I spend no time at all in forums during winters and am often too tired to watch anime) and regularly enjoy boxing, trampolining, hiking and climbing. Used to do judo, kendo and iaido too but since starting work, I simply do not have the commitment to jungle between so many activities and given that martial arts are more strict on attendance, I had to drop them. Also have a licence for skydiving (not a typical "sport", but adrenaline really tires you out at the end of the day).

Recently injured myself trampolining though, hence more time spent here..
